She Left

As my mother lie dying. I knew it was an ending. I knew that my sister
and I would now be the next generation. As I looked deep into the sweet brown eyes
I had always known, I said my goodbyes. Mommy I love you. I have always love you.
Taking her hand in mine I tried to reach her. But her eyes were focused elsewhere.
She knew me not. Perhaps she saw her savior. Perhaps she saw my father. I climbed into bed with her. Holding her tight. Telling her it was all right to go. And she left me.

gone to her reward
carried on sweet angels wings
to sit with her Lord

Echoing Frost

Gathering oak the color of drab winter
with summers soft membranes clinging still.
Limb by limb I stack the wood breathing hard.
Lady shakes her head snorting her displeasure
of the snow now falling around us. I work on
while clouds puff from my body in the misty cold.
I hear my voice echoing tinged with frost stay girl stay.

winters frost has come
wrapping us in biting cold
my voice echos ice

Deep within my heart

deep within my heart
I carry your image
this is for eternity

it shall be forever
nothing will change
nothing will burst
for you are mine forever

Outside In

outside in falling
in love with love so divine
inside out my heart
falls apart piece after piece
never learning from the past

Shame

there is shame in my heart
my memories of you are many
all so full of guilt I know not what to do
forgive me my love for I have hurt you greatly
forgetting your tender love of me
my soul dies as time passes
and you my dear heart have found another

The Color Of Her Words

When she spoke
her words became
shades of silver and gray
Filling the morning mist
rising from her body
with a rainbow of thoughts
In her mind
she could see herself
covered in their silky touch.
Colors sparkled as she moved
breathing in and out
she walked
shimmering
colors swirling around her
In a maze she walked
while jeweled tones fell
gently beneath her feet.
Her eyes opened upon the morning world
seeing what others could not
The color of her words
filled her with wonder
as her laughter echoed
in silver and gray

Night Passion

summers heat paints red sky's
soft bodies cling fire flashes
low moans rise with the moon

sultry darkness calls all
the new moons sweet taste of passion
lovers kiss in twilight

Down To The Sea

Down to the sea in sorrow she walked...
obsessed with the black glacial ocean.
She circled the cold wet rocky sand
walking deeper and deeper into the outgoing tide.
With each wave her steps washed away forever.
The dark depths called out to her...
Some thought her mad...those without feeling and pity
others whom had walked her walk knew the hot pain of loss.
Some wondered for what she searched,
was it the echo of the mighty humpbacked whales
that sing their haunting song of love as they swam the shoreline.
Alone standing in the twilight, she could hear their lament
She turned as her shadows that ever followed
softly called...fear not the sea it is your lover
he has returned and waits for you...deep amid the waves.
She looked back once more then walked in to the ocean's arms
his arms, for it was here the sea had claimed him.
Drowning in want and need...she answered his call

down to the black sea
forever trapped in sorrow
her heart searched for him

Hallway Doors.........

late at night when the moon has set
my sleeping form lifts raising from my quilt

turning....I look down at what I had left behind
one fleeting glance, a smile

my body hesitates....for a moment
then I effortlessly float from one door to the other

Fade Away

memories are all that is left now
carefully sorted and stored
in a satin lined box, pieces of my life

your love letters
your sweet smile
and your dark blue eyes

all reside there
wrapped in pale pink ribbons
pictures so old that they have faded

all of this I treasure next to my heart
late at night I wander over you in my mind
tears want to fall and do

my soul so wounded that last day
I know I must pack this box away
far from my sight but I have no will

no will to go on, no will to forget your kiss
to forget the love we had that was perfection
I am helpless to its power over me

so weary that I would sleep
sleep deeply as not to wake
floating on my dreams
and like the pictures of you, fade away
