Red Roses By Her Cheek
pale white hands sweetly folded
red roses by her cheek
love has gone with summers end
rain against the window panes
weeps, weeps for such perfection
oh, please let her not lie in the dark
This is a poetry, prose,Haiku and writing site
Edna St. Vincent Millay
1916

But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends-
It gives a lovely light!

I like the repetition of please. Very sweet.
