Pere Lachaise

shadows walk this earth
soundless under spirit moons

where

uncanny sounds fill the night
whispers heard behind locked gates

cannot

hide the movement of fresh dirt
they walk the darkness above

left

forgotten from memories time
packed close the famous

lie

piled one on top of another
the dead take much room

where

hallowed ground is much revered
fresh dug dirt moves in currents

such subtle moon tides
can be heard when bells toll

rustling evening gowns
the click of canes walk again

as

shapes group two by two
swaying to the beat of

music

fair ladies curtsy and bow
as handsome gentlemen dance

in

out they move from past to present
all under the milky way

This is lovely. I do believe some of us feel it more than others.

Thanks Sandy for reading my work. I am glad you liked it.
I love graveyards and always feel at peace there. At night it tells a different story.

OMB, I was not sure if it fit the bill on Haiku Bones but that's what came into my mind. So glad you liked it.

beautiful!
I love especially the one-word stanzas.

love the charm, the old world
quality of beauty and civility
mixed with danger and mystery
just beneath the rustle of the
women's gowns.
