harvest time has come
sweet nectar the ripe fruit bears
licking fingers all
children suck fruit dry
little gluttons search for more
oh so sweet they are
This is a poetry,prose,Haiku and writing site

It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends-
It gives a lovely light!

A tasty sweet pair of verses here, Melanie. The children know, don't they? And yes, they are sweet in themselves.

Sweet, the children, the fruit, the season's change. Sapid, the the poem. Delicious and small.
