Grass Beneath My feet

I walk in cool grass
fading quickly as fall comes
oh silver bells ring

In a tiny space
last of the queen of summer
wraps around me tight

fall comes readily
entwining my bodies past
soon I will be ice

solid unmoving I wait
till the pipers come
and fall melts away

I'm ready for the pipers to come and pipe summer away. It's been sizzling here in the desert!

This is lovely, I like to walk barefoot in grass. There isn't much of it here but I still remember the feel of it in England at Glastonbury. A Magical connection to the earth. I hope your fairy has a good winter sleep and melts happy with the Spring.

I love the sweet sad feeling of this haiku.

Walking in cool grass is a sensory experience everyone should experience. I also like "till the pipers come". Very nice!
