try,try as I might
I cannot find my way home
angels lead me there
born in darkness void
please let my soul fly
west word to to sea
hold me tight in your mighty wings

My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends-
It gives a lovely light!

"born in darkness void"
An evocative phrase. Both these haikus seem to express the longing for our soul's true home.
"hold me tight in your mighty wings"
This reminds me very much of Psalm 91:4:
"He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge."
Lovely, thought provoking, haiku. And thank you so much for your encouraging comments on my blog.
Leslie, I am so happy that you came back to reread this poem.
You have such an uplifting site. It makes my sorry soul feel warm.
