I'm not that well acquainted with festivals.. does this have to do with Hanukkah? :)

It was a lovely haiku, and the last line hit the mark nicely.

Oh, I like your take on the prompt very much. Somehow most haiku I read so far were sad, surprising for such a bright prompt :-) Mine is sad, too. So, yours really sparkles up the sadness.

No Leo it is the Jewish New Year. 4000 something. Hanukkah comes either before, during or after Christmas. It is a festival of lights and for eight days each night a candle is lit on the Menorah and a gift is given. It marks a miracle of an oil lamp that never was empty.
So glad you liked it.
