that day long ago I first saw you
still shines brightly in my mind
you tall handsome and shy
oh, with those cornflower-blue eyes
you, so soft spoken and loving
those eyes , I could drown in them
your beautiful voice so lyrical
melted my heart and filled me with awe
I would travel back in time
to change all that went wrong.
just to have you, love you ,to make you mine
and give you babies with cornflower-blue eyes
still shines brightly in my mind
you tall handsome and shy
oh, with those cornflower-blue eyes
you, so soft spoken and loving
those eyes , I could drown in them
your beautiful voice so lyrical
melted my heart and filled me with awe
I would travel back in time
to change all that went wrong.
just to have you, love you ,to make you mine
and give you babies with cornflower-blue eyes

This is beautiful...filled with sad longing. Well done.
It's amazing how one thing like eye color can stay with us so long and can bring back so many memories and regrets.
Thank you both for reading my poem. Yes it is a sad longing for something I had once but can never have again.
And, yes his eyes were cornflower blue. A blue to get lost in.
