puzzled, lost in shadows of night
visions weave in and out
all in knots caught up in you
in the maze of my heart
hidden away my face blank
none to see my truth
none to know my thoughts
an enigma, mystery of my past

It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends-
It gives a lovely light!

That is beautiful! I especially love the 2nd stanza!
I'm so open and transparent but I wish sometimes I could be like this poem.
Powerful title to lead us into your poem. My heart beats rapidly as all of my senses are awakened by you.
Oh, good work! I'd be hard pressed to think of someone who knew me, too!
Beautifully written. The imagery creates an enigma. Lovely take on the prompt.
Very deep Melissa, and I know all of use have that enigma in ourselves!
Very beautiful. I wonder if we all feel this way, at times?
That kind of solitude just plain hurts.
Written wonderfully, love the phrase in the title.
Oh thank you all for your lovely and kind comments. I am sorry but had to thank you all at one time. Please know each and every comment means a great deal to me.
Melanie
