Love...........

rises with the moon
sets with the sun
weaving patterns of love.....
deep purple, violet blue,red
hearts burn hot in the night
bodies move under the stars
in slow rhythm with the universe

mornings slick dew, shimmers with stars light
shadows now follow all......
gone the nights heat and desire
gone the power and image of love
we are all chained for life......
a sentence without a chance of parole
hidden from the days light, waiting for dark

Wow!

'we are all chained for life......
a sentence without a chance of parole
hidden from the days light, waiting for dark'

Passion in waiting... so beautifully described.

Dear Melanie,

The vivid contrast between the two stanzas of the passion of love vs its departure is so skillfully rendered by you that I'm literally shaking and tearing up. Your poem is that visceral. A majority of your fine poems affect me that way.

Hugs,
Gel

Thank you for the prompt and your wonderful poem. So full of passion and desire. Are we truly chained for life?

An interesting way to turn that around, and great use of words!

what love can be? seems to act in sync with nature, the rising and the setting of sun, that bright moon and stars above as mute witnesses...:)

beautiful thoughts indeed melanie!

Is love desirable? Is it not? I think it's "...better to have loved and lost than not loved at all."

Thanks for the thought-provoking verses.

Best regards.

Thank you Melanie! Thank you for this neat little four-letter prompt that is so hard to write.

Thank you too for your rendition. I loved the first verse and got terribly sad with the second.

I've been both places and don't want the second ever again. The life is tolerable and more exciting but the chain breaking is Hell! Even if I was almost forever wanting it that way it was still tough to go through.

Living for love and the heat of the night. Hard to reconcile with the glare of morning. A thought provoking poem.
Thanks for the prompt--am enjoying all that it has inspired!

This sounds like a secret love, or passion masking as love. Sometimes it is hard to tell!
