vibrant hues of gold
tints of red orange plum and green
screen now empty trees
fairies hopes and dreams
woven mists move to drum beats
falls dancers have come
they twirl round and round
singing their sweet melodies
till dawn fills the sky

My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends-
It gives a lovely light!

Beautiful piece of writing & lovely imagery:)
I like the vibrant images of fairies dancing and twirling ~
love the fantasy in this...dreams brought to live through your words
beautiful.
it seems as if fairies could not exist in a place where the foliage is not vibrant.
You fit a lot into this piece, it's almost like flash fiction!
Nicely!
So interesting....good one
Vibrantly beautiful!! and a tribute to seasonal changes!!
The poem also gives me images of the Whirling Dervishes in motion!!
I think this is one of your very best. -- I love the motion you've created with words.
This is a beautiful poem filled with all the vivid colors of fall. So lovely Melanie!
